Sumitomo Riko Hosetex Wins Caterpillar Supplier Excellence Award

Sumitomo Riko Company Limited is honored to announce that Sumitomo Riko Hosetex, Ltd., an industrial hose manufacture and sales group company, has received a Caterpillar Supplier Excellence Award for product support and logistics from Caterpillar Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives.

Caterpillar awarded suppliers who met or exceeded rigorous requirements and achieved world-class certification levels from May 2021 through June 2022. On this occasion, Sumitomo Riko Hosetex, together with our sales representative, Tsuchida Sangyo Co., Ltd. received the Caterpillar Excellence Award in the Supplier Excellence category.

Sumitomo Riko Hosetex Managing Executive Officer Hirofumi Kanetake attended the award ceremony held in Dallas, Texas in December of 2022 on behalf of the Group. During the award ceremony, Pam Heminger, Senior Vice President of Caterpillar’s Strategic Procurement and Planning Division, said, “Caterpillar’s reputation for world-class products and services stands on the shoulders of our global and diverse team – and that team includes our international and diverse supply network. By working together, we can deliver on our purpose to help our customers build a better, more sustainable world.”

Through our local companies in Japan and China, the Sumitomo Riko Group has been supplying hydraulic hoses and industrial hoses used in excavators and other construction equipment to Caterpillar for more than 50 years since the time of the predecessor of Caterpillar Japan LLC. Currently, Sumitomo Riko Hosetex and TRFH Co., Ltd, the only industrial hose manufacture and sales group company in the Sumitomo Riko Group located in China, manufacture and supply products to Caterpillar.

Since commencing the manufacture of industrial hoses in 1945, the Sumitomo Riko Group has been manufacturing industrial hoses and contributing to the improvement of social infrastructure for close to 80 years. We will continue to ensure quality, reduce costs, and meet deadlines while supporting the global infrastructure industry through products that satisfy all our customer’s needs throughout the world.
